On Friday, June 12, 2020, at about 1:44pm, the CNMI Department of Public Safety received a 911 call reporting a possible missing individual, Jason Fitial, in the village of San Jose.
Family members told the officer that Fitial was last seen on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at about 9:30am. The individual arrived at their home in San Jose, and asked to borrow a machete to cut down some fruits from a nearby tree. The family member did not check to see if Fitial went into the wooded area behind the home.
Fitial was last seen using a blue, red and yellow striped shirt, and a pair of short pants.
On Monday, June 15, 2020, a tip came in that Fitial was seen at Ming Yang Market in San Vicente last Thursday, and another tip from the community stating that he was also seen on Thursday afternoon with another individual in a light-colored Kia Forte sedan.
These tips were later found to be false. The department got in contact with the individual whom witnesses claimed was Jason Fitial. And it was later confirmed that Fitial was not the individual seen in the security footage provided. The department would like to thank the public for your continued concern for the safety and well-being of Fitial.
If you or anyone you know has any information on the whereabouts of Fitial, call 911. His safety is of utmost concern to the department and his family members. (PR)
