The 61-year-old male diver stated that he was exhausted but refused further medical attention.

According to the diver, they arrived at the Grotto at about 5:3pm and noticed that the gate was open. He and his partner decided to go diving. He wanted to dive toward the cavern but his partner didn’t follow. He said he made his way to the point and got stuck in the current. He then tried to swim back toward the cliff line and couldn’t get back before the DPS rescue boat found him. (PR)
