Doyle is new medical director for CHC
Osman steps down but still medical director for dialysis
The Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. has a new medical director, Dr. John Doyle, according to CHCC chief executive officer Esther Muña.
In a statement over the weekend, Muña said that Dr. Sharleen Osman stepped down last Friday after two years of occupying the position. She will, however, remain as the medical director for the Dialysis Unit at the Commonwealth Health Center.
Doyle, who will serve as the hospital’s medical director for two years, has been with the internal medicine department for over a year now.
According to Muña, Doyle is not one to say no to helping CHCC. He’s covered the infectious disease department, the mental health, and the emergency department when necessary and when asked to.
“I want to thank Dr. Doyle for accepting this additional role and responsibility and would like to welcome him as new member of the CHC governing body and CHCC board. We should all extend our gratitude and appreciate Dr. Osman,” Muña said.
Osman was instrumental in resolving many of the hospital’s deficiencies that were cited by the Centers for Medical and Medicaid Services. Osman is also credited with bringing the standards of care at CHC to a much higher level.
“Dr. Osman also helped tremendously in the launching of the electronic health records. It is certainly difficult to participate in the administrative decision making while being the physician and even more difficult when you’re caring for complex cases of patients, such as end stage renal disease and we cannot thank her enough,” Muña said.
