Matansa, TanHoldings win masters openers
Also set for this Sunday is a pair of games in the masters division. In the 4pm game, Matansa will face Paire, while in the 5pm tiff, it will be Kanoa versus MP United.
Matansa will be gunning for back-to-back, as it hammered Kanoa, 7-0, during the masters division’s opening game last Sunday. TanHoldings also won its season debut last weekend after downing MP United, 3-1.
The masters division will have a round-robin format in the regular season with all teams advancing to the playoffs. The No. 1 finisher in the preliminaries will automatically move into the finals, while the No. 2 and 3 will dispute the last finals ticket. The No. 4 and 5 squads will play for rankings.
In Divisions A and B, the four teams in each group will play in a double-round robin preliminary to determine the playoff rankings where the No. 1 finisher battles the No. 4 squad for the first finals seat and the No. 2 and 3 teams duel for the second finals berth.
