Division leaders stretch streak in M-League

MP United Football Club extended its winning run to sixth after topping Kanoa FC, 5-1, in the Division A game in the 2018 Spring M-League last Sunday at the Hopwood Middle School Field.
Sunjoon Tenorio powered MP United to the easy victory after making four goals. He started his string of goals in the 24th minute, while his later three were recorded in the 41st, 57th, and 79th. Anthony Fruit scored the other goal for MP United, drawing first blood in the third minute of the one-sided game. Josh David Josen registered the lone goal for Kanoa, which remained at the bottom of the team standings with its 0-2-4 win-draw-loss record.
MP United, with its 6-0-0 mark, kept the top spot, ahead of TanHoldings (5-1-0), Paire (2-1-3), Okadaya (2-1-3), Teen Ayuyus (1-3-3), and Winners & Pacific (0-2-3).
TanHoldings 2, Teen Ayuyus 1
TanHoldings is still breathing down MP United’s neck following a close win over the Teen Ayuyus.
Martin Jambor drilled both goals for TanHoldings with his go-ahead posted in the 78th minute. He had his first goal in the 27th minute, while Aloyzeus Angeles made the equalizer for the Teen Ayuyus in the 48th.
Okadaya 4, Paire 3
Okadaya also pulled off a victory against Paire in the second game in the division.
Kosuke Sato earned a pair of goals with his shot in the 72nd minute giving Okadaya the insurance. He got his first goal in the 55th minute, while Dong Geun Kim and Kosuke Kimura scored the other goals for Okadaya in the 20th and 50th, respectively.
Jonathan Takano duplicated Sato’s feat after finding the back of the net in the 42nd and 75th minute, while Daniel Agulto hit the board in the 36th.
DIVISION B
KFAS 7, Matansa 2
Korean Football Association on Saipan notched its seven win in as many games after dominating Matansa last Sunday at the Koblerville Elementary School Ballfield.
Juan Oh had a hat trick in the lopsided victory, while Edwin Kim and Oliver Lee posted two each for KFAS, which is way ahead of Matansa (4-1-2), Sun Palace (3-1-2), the CNMI Women’s U16 National Team (3-1-3), Shirley’s (2-0-5), and Pacific Islands Club (0-1-6).
Matansa absorbed its second loss after only Amzad Khan and Kamrul Kamrul scored against KFAS.
Sun Palace 6, WNT U16 2
Sun Palace and the CNMI Women’s U16 National Team tied for third to fourth place after the former prevailed in the second game in the division.
Guo Hua Hou and Jack Phan made two goals each for Sun Palace, while Daniel Pablo and Brian Lubao chipped in one apiece. Lilian Podziewski and Katrina Costales posted the pair of goals for the CNMI Women’s U16 National Team.
Shirley’s 5, PIC 3
Shirley’s earned its second win after outclassing Pacific Islands Club.
Five different players contributed to Shirley’s victory with Jedidah Peteru starting things off for the squad. Heng Guo Piao, Jerry Tan, Taro Goto, and Jun Liu were the scorers for Shirley’s, while Albert Bergancia registered all three goals for PIC.
