Division leaders roll past foes

The pacesetters in the 2015 NMIFA Youth Spring League eased their way to victories in Week 7.

In the boys U15 division, the streaking Tan Holdings Football Club 1 crushed Matansa FC, 7-0, last Friday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.

Emmanuel Aniana was unstoppable in Tan Holdings 1’s demolition of Matansa, as he knocked in three goals. Louie Calayag, Anthony Fruit, Mark Esalan, and Jonathan Capayas contributed one goal apiece for Tan Holdings, which kept the No. 1 spot in its division after improving to a 7-0-0 win-draw-loss record.

In the other boys U15 division match last Friday, MP United also shut down Tan Holdings 2, 5-0, to retain the second spot in the team standings.
MP United, which now was a 6-0-1 mark, drew one goals each from Go Sekiguchi, Edwin Kim, Sunjoon Tenorio, Grant Eichenberger, and Cody Leon.

GIRLS U15
Matansa 12, MP United 0

Matansa posted the most lopsided win in Week 7 after routing MP United last Saturday at the Hopwood Junior High School Field.

Angelica Sally did most of the damage in Matansa’ victory, as she drilled seven goals. Lyka Sally and Bernadette Horey added two goals apiece, while Pinyarat Shankweiler nailed one.

Matansa beat Shirley’s in the tiebreak for first place, as the former has more goals scored after seven games, 23-20. The two teams hold similar 5-2-0 records.

Diana Maniacop and Mia Carreon teamed up in Shirley’s easy win, as they registered two goals each. De Jana Muna recorded the other goal for Shirley’s.

With the loss and its 2-0-5 slate, Tan Holdings dropped to fourth place.

Paire 2, Kanoa 1
Paire bumped off Tan Holdings for the third spot in the team standings following a close win against Kanoa.

Paire improved its record to 4-0-3 after beating Kanoa. Guinevere Borja and Renita Fleming delivered the needed goals in Paire’s triumph over Kanoa. Kanoa, which got its lone goal from Sharmaine Francisco, remained at the cellar with its 1-0-6 card.

CO-ED U12
Kanoa 1, Tan Holdings 0

Kanoa was victorious in the co-ed U12 division after nosing out Tan Holdings.

Merrick Tovers hit the lone goal in the match, helping Kanoa gain a 2-3-1 record for second place in the team standings. Tan Holdings dropped to fourth place in the five-team field with its 1-1-4 record.

Paire 5, Matansa 1
In the other co-ed U12 match, Paire cruised past Matansa.

Kaden Church and Maui Johnson notched two goals each for Paire, which kept the No. 3 spot in the team standings with its 2-1-2 record. Blake Mister posted the other goal for Paire, while Justin Achas was the lone scorer for Matansa, which is at the bottom of the field with its 1-1-4. Matansa lost in the tiebreak (goals scored) against Tan Holdings, 13-14.

BOYS U18
Tan Holdings 5, Matansa 0

In the only boys U18 game played last weekend, Tan Holdings whipped Matansa to remain unbeaten in five games.

Sean Perez towed Tan Holdings to victory, scoring a hat-trick against Matansa, while Junsik Kim and Yoshi Mafnas chipped in one goal apiece.
