The Northern Marianas College through the Community Development Institute (CDI) is offering discounted rates for individuals who wish to take a short-term Zumba course that begins this Friday, May 18, 2012.

The fee for the Zumba course has been reduced to $45 per individual if participants refer one individual to register for the course, which equates to $5 per class session. This discount will also be given to the individuals referred. However, the course fee is $90 for those who do not refer others to take the course.

Zumba is a popular fitness program inspired by Latin dance. It is marketed as “an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party” (www.zumba.com). Zumba consists of various aerobic exercises that also tone and sculpt the body.

These courses are offered as part of the College’s mission to provide customized, continuing educational, professional development instruction, as well as personal enrichment opportunities in response to community needs.

The Zumba course will begin on Friday, May 18, 2012, and will continue every Monday and Friday until the last day on June 15, 2012. The schedule is 5pm to 6pm at the NMC As Terlaje campus.

It is recommended that all interested individuals register before the start of the first day of class. Full payment is required for admission to a class.

To register, or for information about these courses, visit the CDI Office in Building P on the NMC Campus in As Terlaje or call 234-5498 ext. 1005/1010/1019 or e-mail Orrin Pharmin at orrinp@nmcnet.edu. (PR)
