Disaster relief organizations topic at SHRM meeting
The topic for this month’s Society for Human Resource Management NMI Chapter August general membership meeting is “FEMA, Red Cross and the Salvation Army: Organizations to assist our staff in their time of need.”
The resource speakers include American Red Cross NMI Chapter executive director John Hirsch, Federal Emergency and Management Agency liaison Michael Kern, and Saipan Salvation Army ministry leader pastor Wayne Gillespie.
This lunch meeting will be held at the Pacific Islands Club’s Charley’s Cabaret tomorrow, Aug. 27, from 11:30am to 1:30pm.
This presentation is open to the public and will be an invaluable opportunity for employers and HR professionals and staff to gain information and to discuss ways that employees can gain assistance from federal and local agencies that are working to help the Commonwealth’s citizens during this time of crisis. The speakers will focus on available programs and benefits, what employers can do to help employees, and the processes involved.
The presentation includes lunch at the cost of $20 for SHRM members and $30 for non-members. Seats are limited, so reserve your seat by contacting Micah Parico-Acuavera by phone at 234-1795 or by e-mail at corpoffice@triplejsaipan.com or by e-mail to Frank Gibson at flgibson@yahoo.com.
