Glenn Dikito, Neighborhood Watch block captain for Kagman, was elected last Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, as the new chairman of the Neighborhood Watch Task Force, an anti-crime group initiated by the Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council.

Sebastian Tajibmai, block captain for Tanapag Neighborhood Watch, is the new vice chairman, while municipal council administrator Frances Muna was chosen as secretary and treasurer.

Dikito, who succeeds Dandan block captain Frank Camacho, is requesting everybody’s support and cooperation. The new task force chairman will meet with other block captains to discuss anti-crime initiatives.

Also part of the new leadership’s goal is to install Neighborhood Watch signs at public and private schools.

The Neighborhood Watch Task Force will also continue their community outreach after the November elections. In Kagman, Reps. Lorenzo Deleon Guerrero and Antonio Agulto have been supportive and the committee hopes to get more support from other lawmakers and individuals. (PR)
