Design Florist offers no-hassle Christmas trees

Christmas needs its Christmas trees, and Design Florist has plenty.

Walk into Design Florist located at the Cabrera Center along Beach Road and find Christmas trees as tall as 12 feet, fully decorated and displayed entirely throughout the store.

The presence of Christmas is felt around family, friends, food and gifts but, as Frank Cabrera, general manager of Design Florist, knows, a Christmas tree can anchor all of this.

He also knows how busy life can get around the holiday season and how much of a hassle to our schedules—and our pockets—setting up a perfect Christmas tree can be.

This is where Design Florist comes in. With its more than 125 trees rented out each year to offices and homes on island, Cabrera and designer Alvin Dedal are eager to help you and your family find the perfect Christmas tree that fits you.

Dedal likes to blend in with clients, hearing their tastes and seeking out what they’d like in a tree. One year, Dedal had a unique request to outfit a tree with baby items because a newborn was on the way during the holiday season.

Flower-themed trees for nature-lovers are also available on request. Right now, Christmas trees for rent come in many different colors: frosted, off-white, purple, bronze, black, red, and green trees.

Ornaments also can be clear-white, or different shades of blue, as well as pink or purple, silver, chocolate, bronze, and other colors.

“Our colors are almost unlimited,” Cabrera said, speaking of the vast array of choices the store can offer.

“You will get your money’s worth. Our trees are practical and affordable, small and elegant, or large and bright,” he said. “When they go out, they’ve got to look beautiful.”

Customers get to a look at a Christmas tree’s final touch-up before they are delivered to homes or offices. Design Florist will also set up the trees for you.

For a fully decorated Christmas tree, prices range from $75 to $350. For the full-décor home packages (garlands, swags, centerpieces, etc.), prices are from $300 to $1,500.

Design Florist also sells live-potted poinsettias. Cabrera encourages customers to call in and make orders in advance.

The new arrival of the live-potted poinsettias will be in stores on Nov. 26 and on Dec. 16. Get your orders while supplies last.

But this goes for the rental trees as well. Cabrera expects orders to come in quick and fast from their frequent clientele. One year, initial stocks were sold out by Veterans Day!
