Rep. Angel Demapan has prefiled a resolution to honor Eloy S. Inos, saying the late governor embodied all the characteristics of a true statesman—intelligence, humility, kindness, and vision that made “it possible for him to overcome obstacles and cross political lines to unite our leaders in order to take the government out of its economic decline, save the pensions of our retirees and their beneficiaries, and lead us on to the path of economic recovery”

“Inos used his financial expertise and political insight to invite new investors, businesses, and visitors to the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands,” the resolution states.

The resolution recognizes Inos’ contribution to the public and private sector, noting his decades of service in the Trust Territory and Commonwealth governments as revenue and taxation director, and Finance Department director secretary, as well as his time in several executive leadership positions under Tan Holdings Corp.

“It is with hope that future generations understand and appreciate his benevolence, the merit of his causes, and the quality of his service that he has relentlessly shown to the citizens of our great Commonwealth for over 30 years.”
