Delta Airlines continued with its service to the community and once again is supporting this year’s Marianas March Against Cancer set on May 13 and 14 at the Hopwood Junior High School grounds in Chalan Piao.

Delta donated one round-trip main cabin ticket to anywhere in the U.S. and another round-trip main cabin ticket to Japan plus $400 worth of travel credit vouchers.

MMAC committee chair Geri C. Dela Cruz again thanked Delta for their continued support to the annual event. Delta is the 2016 MMAC’s first confirmed title sponsor.

“We extend our thanks to Delta for their partnership in the battle against cancer,” said Dela Cruz during last Thursday’s presentation at Delta’s passenger terminal at the Francisco C. Ada International Airport.

“All MMAC teams will be selling $5 raffle tickets to the public so we encourage everyone to purchase your tickets for a chance to win these awesome prizes from Delta,” added Dela Cruz, the MMAC overall committee chair.

Delta sales account executive Chris A. Concepcion, who is also the MMAC overall committee vice chair, said their company is committed in supporting MMAC.

“Delta has been a strong supporter of the MMAC for many years now. We commend the MMAC committee for their efforts in raising badly needed funds for the fight against cancer,” said Concepcion.

“We’ve all been touched by cancer one way or another so we invite everyone to join us as we work to eradicate this deadly disease,” he added.

All proceeds of the annual MMAC event, from donations by sponsors and other individuals, will go to fund various projects of the Commonwealth Cancer Association.

Issuing vouchers to assist cancer patients with medical costs of treatment, information dissemination in raising cancer awareness and prevention in the CNMI, and monthly meetings with other cancer survivors are some of CCA’s projects. They also provide other support services and serves as chief advocate for cancer issues in the Commonwealth.

The Saipan Mayor’s Office has also pledged in providing logistics and other assistance to MMAC for the two-day event.
