Delta donates two tickets for TOC hole-in-one prize

  Delta Air Lines has announced that it has donated two BusinessElite tickets to the U.S. as a hole-in-one prize at the upcoming Tournament of Champions on Aug. 4 and 5. The value of each ticket exceeds $6,000.

“The Tournament of Champions continues to raise critical funds that benefit important projects, especially projects that benefit the CNMI’s tourism industry,” said Chris Concepcion of Delta Air Lines Sales and Marketing. “As in previous years, we are happy to be a part of this year’s event again.”

“We would like to thank Delta Airlines for its sponsorship and its commitment to the event,” said Ben Babauta, president of the NMC Foundation. “The hole-in -one prize is sure to entice players to join the tournament.”

The 17th Annual Tournament of Champions will be played at the Laolao Bay Golf and Resort’s East & West Courses on August 4 and 5. The two-day event is bigger and better than ever with exciting hole-in-one prizes and the chance to win thousands of dollars in possible prizes. The TOC tournament fee is $175.

First place winners in the Men’s Championship, A, B, C, Senior, and Super Senior Flights will each receive $500 cash, $400 for second, $300 for third, a digital camera to fourth, and $100 DFS gift certificate for fifth place.

The Ladies Low Gross champion will receive $500, $400 for second, and $300 for third place. The first, second, and third place winners of the Ladies Low Net will receive a trophy.

Over $300,000 worth of prizes is at stake in the two-day tournament, including hole-in-one prizes worth $50,000 on both the east and west courses courtesy of AON Insurance. The Bank of Hawaii also recently confirmed that it is sponsoring another hole-in-one prize of $20,000. Other hole-in-one prizes include a 2012 Ford Fiesta from Joeten Motors, a 2013 Hyundai Elantra from Triple J Motors and a 2013 Toyota Venza from Microl Toyota.

If that’s not impressive enough, Saipan Laolao Bay Golf Resort is offering one year of free golf as another hole-in-one prize, while Delta Airlines is also contributing business class airfares to the U.S. mainland as yet an additional hole-in-one prize.

The tournament will also be featuring $1,000 cash prizes for closest to pin competitions.

Since its inception, TOC has given over $500,000 to the Saipan Beautification Fund which has gone directly to the improvements of the tree-lined traffic medians that stretch from Garapan to the former Palm Resort Saipan, as well as the revitalization of the Garapan special district. In addition, TOC also contributed funds for the Paseo de Marianas, the lighting of the Saipan Beach Pathway, and most recently the beautification of the Port to Park pathway.
