The CNMI Board of Parole has granted the parole applications of Ezra Deleon Guerrero, George Langu, Laraad Ramangmo, and Nicholas Cabrera.

Deleon Guerrero was convicted of killing Korean businessman Jae Soung Shim in May 2009. He was convicted of first-degree murder and was sentence to 30 years in prison.

He claimed that he was under the influence of methamphetamine when he killed Shim. He wore a black ski mask and hit the victim on the back of the head several times with a stick and stole money in the cash register.

According to parole officer Jason Lizama, the BOP also granted parole to Nicholas Cabrera.

Chief prosecutor John Bradley had opposed approving the parole for all the applicants as each have either violated their parole regulations or committed a serious crime.

Langu was charged with rape and is currently serving a 10-year prison term; he has already served about three and a half years of his sentence. Langu broke into a neighbor’s home and raped his 16-year-old neighbor in 2016.

Ramangmou was arrested with Johnalyn Salas for burglarizing and ransacking an apartment on Navy Hill in May 2017. The two stole clothing, identification cards, cellphones, a laptop, passport, wallet, $5,900 worth of Chinese currency, and $510 cash.
