Deadline to apply for CHAP Fellowship
The Northern Marianas College’s Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Service is reminding all NMC students that the deadline to apply for the Child Health Assessment in the Pacific Undergraduate Summer Fellowship Program is on Feb. 15, 2017.
The program provides a summer training opportunity for undergraduate students working toward degrees in nutrition, nursing, early childhood education, public health and other related degrees.
The objective of the CHAP program is to build Pacific regional capacity in early childhood nutrition and health assessment training and sustain the Pacific network of individuals working to monitor and prevent early childhood obesity and health disparities and evaluate a program that will sustain training in early childhood nutrition and health assessment.
Students that get accepted into the program will be awarded with a $2,100 stipend. All travel, meal, and housing expenses for a seve-day training opportunity at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa will be covered through the fellowship. The resources and support to complete a mentored summer field experience related to diet or anthropometry field assessment techniques will also be provided to CHAP.
