InteliSecure, a Colorado-based company and a provider of critical data security services, announced its intention of opening an office and accessing manpower in the CNMI at a public forum held last Wednesday at the Latte Training Academy office located at the Marianas Business Plaza in Susupe.
According to InteliSecure vice president Graham Logsdon, they help organizations protect their critical data in digital form and help guide different departments within the organization the safest way to share sensitive data.
“Every employee has a Social Security Number and when that data is mistakenly or inappropriately disclosed to a lot of parties especially to criminal organizations around the world, employers don’t want that to happen… so we help organizations protect critical data such as SSN numbers, intellectual property to name a few from those kinds of situations,” he said.
“Our security operation centers monitor the use of data inside an organization. If someone decides to download 80,000 SSN numbers and put it in a USB stick, we would help that organization identify when it happened and ultimately, prevent that from happening,” he added.
Currently, InteliSecure has security operations in the United Kingdom and Denver, Colorado. “We want to have a presence in the Asia Pacific region and we love the idea that we can do this in America in which the CNMI is a part of. Our clients love what America offers them in terms of data protection and rule of law so we come here to set up a security center,” Logsdon said.
“We are looking for talents in the CNMI to work as ‘analysts’ in the company who will work in conjunction with our analysts in the UK and Denver… they will monitor our clients, make sure that they are safe from any activities that we feel are suspicious or dangerous and so we can help them mitigate the risk of that,” Logsdon added.
Normally, cyber security companies will find someone who holds a degree or masters in computer science, but Logsdon takes a different route in hiring people. “We are not looking for someone with the best and most impressive cyber security resume …we hire people who are willing to learn, eager for knowledge, hardworking, and we want them to grow in the organization…,” he said.
“Analysts will be trained in very unique technologies such as data classification, cloud access security brokers, secure web gateways, and security information management…we encourage growth within the company…everyone in the company who are in a management or leadership position now came in an entry level position and has grown and promoted,” he added.
InteliSecure is working closely with Latte Training Academy who will give applicants initial training, testing, and certification and, with the CNMI Department of Labor, will provide assistance with job requirements, schedule of seminars and trainings.
Logsdon clarified that they are not simply outsourcing. “This is not outsourcing as this is not about the cost of doing business, how can we lower operations. This is about our presence in a U.S. territory and we think it is a great place to do business and tapping talents,” he said.
InteliSecure is one of the fastest growing companies in the United States. At the Prestigious Inc. 5000 annual awards held last year, they were ranked number 2,659 because of their three-year revenue growth of 158%. InteliSecure plans to open their office in the CNMI early next year.
