CWA elects new board
The CNMI Women’s Association elected its new board of directors at the association’s general membership meeting last Nov. 6 at the CNMI Women’s Center on Capital Hill.
The newly elected board include Cindy I. Deleon Guerrero, Cecilia Taitano, Sharina Clark, Linda Cabrera, Annamae Adaza, Annie Reyes, and Jovita Paulino.
The outgoing board members are Rose T. Ada-Hocog, Julie Manglona, Jacqueline Che, Dolores Drew, Daisy Demapan, and Erna Ngirchongor.
CWA administrator Felicidad T. Ogomoro said the board members must exemplify a strong sense of commitment to advancing justness, as well as be able to effectuate solutions to the challenges and barriers women in the CNMI continue to face.
“CWA is strongly committed to its mission of empowering our women and helping them succeed through the programs and services we provide, which is critical to the strength of our families and our entire Commonwealth,” Ogumoro added.
Incorporated under the laws of the Commonwealth on April 13, 2011, the CWA is governed by a seven-member board and collaborates with public and private organizations to deliver vital social services to communities throughout the CNMI.
The new board members will be introduced at the inaugural “Fun-Raise-Her” Dinner on Nov. 22, Friday, from 6pm to 10pm, at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan in Garapan, organized by CWA to help raise funds for the operations and programs, as well as services and activities the association provides for girls and women on the island.
