CUC’s water tank areas still limited
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. said yesterday that its water tank service areas are still operating in a limited capacity, based on tank levels and damaged tank level gauges and while pipe damage are being assessed.
CUC executive director Gary P. Camacho said they energized the water distribution system at some Saipan water tank service areas at 11:30pm yesterday.
The Puerto Rico village, northern Garapan village, and central Garapan village were expected to have 24-hour water supply yesterday.
Southern Garapan and Gualo Rai Road were expected to have CUC water from 2pm to 4pm.
Other areas that are expected to have 24-hour water supply were Upper Navy Hill, Maturana Village, Susupe Drive, Doboto Lane, Gloria Drive, Navy Hill Road, Isla Drive, and Puerto Rico Drive.
There was no water service yesterday to parts of San Antonio, Chalan Kanoa, Susupe, San Jose, Chalan Piao village, but water may be released again today, Tuesday, depending on tank levels.
Water wells were offline at portions of Kagman 3 village and Laolao Bay due to a transmission water mainline break.
While emergency generators are hooked up and power is restored in water wells and crews perform repairs, only three out of six water filling stations are available to the public until further notice, Camacho said
The remaining three water filling stations will increase the amount of water being given to the public to 100 gallons each.
