CUC sets public meeting on sewerline project
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. earlier announced that major sewer construction projects in Garapan and San Antonio will soon start. This project, funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and awarded to GPPC, Inc., will replace approximately 2,580 feet of dilapidated sewer pipe by replacing existing asbestos cement pipe with new piping, installing new manholes, associated road restoration, and reconnection of existing sewer service laterals.
The sewer replacement project will affect six streets in Garapan (Coral Tree Avenue, Palm Street, Date Street, Ginger Avenue, Orchid Street, and Royal Palm Avenue) and Laiguan Avenue in San Antonio.
In anticipation of disruption during construction, CUC and its contractor will be conducting a public meeting for residents and business owners in the affected areas on May 14, 2014, from 11:30am to 12:30pm at the third floor, Room 17, CUC Main Office in Dandan. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an overview of the project, to outline measures during construction to maintain access and minimize disruption, and answer project related questions. Details concerning traffic impacts, pedestrian control and safety issues will also be discussed.
CUC and its contractor will be working hard and make every reasonable attempt to minimize the inconvenience to the public resulting from this project.
