CUC hires Orsini as HR manager

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. has hired a new human resources manager.

According to CUC acting executive director Gary Camacho, their new HR manager is Andrew Orsini.

Orsini started officially on Tuesday.

He was a former Civil Service Commission executive director and served the grievance division chief of the Office of Personnel Management. He was also a former Northern Marianas College Board of Regents member.

“He’s with CUC now and he’ll assist in all these matters, with HR matters,” Camacho said, “He’ll help us out with all our CWs, we’re not going to be behind anymore in all our CWs, we’re going to be ahead and we’re going to try the water with the personnel.”

Camacho said having an HR manager will be beneficial to their employees.

“We’re pleased to have him on board because the staff development is obviously an issue in the technical industry we’re in. CUC is highly technical in a variety of different ways. We need someone who can focus in on our resource, local labor resource, and try to heighten their skill level through a responsible development program,” Camacho said.

“It’s a void that has been there since Frank Cepeda left and we’re filling it and we expect it to be beneficial to the employees,” he added.

Cepeda left CUC in July last year.
