The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. has cancelled the scheduled power interruptions for the Dandan area that were set for Wednesday, May 22, and Thursday, May 23, after CUC’s contractor, Primary Source Electric, finished replacing the damaged power lines ahead of schedule.

Primary Source Electric, however, will continue hardening tasks along the power distribution system on the south side of the island, particularly for the San Antonio and Koblerville areas, from May 22 to 25, 2019 as stated in the public advisory that was announced yesterday afternoon. This will be PSE’s last work week for the Mitigation Project until their return, which will be announced later.

Because of the scale of work that will be performed, CUC asks travelers to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the working areas.

CUC would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding during these past months of scheduled outages. As a result of the hardening tasks, CUC’s power distribution system will be stronger and much more reliable during a natural disaster.
