Emergency power outage today, Aug. 6

There will be an emergency scheduled power interruption today, Aug. 6, 2020, from 9am to 1pm for the areas of As Terlaje, Chalan Tun Antonio Apa, Northern Marianas College, El Toro, Kannat Tabla, Marianas Baptist School and portions of San Vicente.

This will de-energize utility lines so that linemen of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. will be able to safely replace a cracked concrete power pole near the shoulder outer lane of Isa Drive in San Vicente (before Zori Zori).

Because of the scale of work that will be performed, CUC asks travelers to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the working area. No water well will be affected during the outage time but may be affected if outage time exceeds the scheduled time. (PR)

Emergency water outage yesterday in Papago and parts of Kagman

There was an emergency water service interruption yesterday, Aug. 5, from 8:30am to 5pm for customers in the areas of Hafey Lane in Kagman and customers along Isa Drive from the Kagman Mobil to Mulberry Lane near the CUC Papago Water Tank.

This was due an 8-inch mainline leak located near Hafey Lane in Kagman. Repairs on the water main were originally scheduled on July 27, 2020, but operators were unable to locate the source of the leak at that time. The repair to the leaking pipe was expected to be completed at 5pm yesterday. (PR)
