Noreen Sablan has been serving as acting manager of Rota International Airport and seaport since former manager Thomas Manglona’s contract was terminated.

CPA executive director Edward Deleon Guerrero said in an interview yesterday that Sablan, who has been working for the agency as an administrative assistant, will serve in an acting capacity until the Commonwealth Ports Authority hires a new manager.

Deleon Guerrero terminated the contract of long-time Rota airport and seaport manager Thomas Manglona, whose employment contract was just renewed in March along with those of the Saipan and Tinian managers.

Manglona is the brother of Senate President Paul Manglona, who was recently engaged in a word war with Gov. Benigno R. Fitial.

Thomas Manglona’s last day at work was on May 9.

Deleon Guerrero disclosed that they will announce the vacant post by next week “to find the most qualified person to take over” the managerial position.

“Our acting right now is an employee we have on board and she will serve just until the recruitment process is done,” said Deleon Guerrero.
