LITERARY NOOK
COVID Contemplation & Commentary
April first vaccine numbers burst, COVID thirst
driving near a cemetery, dying to get away
COVID tragicomedy commentary
had two vaccine shots of Pfizer
mask and restrictions still in place
don’t feel any wiser
two shots of RNA vaccine
had the same of Irish whiskey
COVID spring cleaning
nurse says hello, now I’m a two shot fellow,
arm a little sore but feeling mellow
April first vaccine numbers burst,
COVID losing some thirst
no shaking any person’s hands
COVID in downward spiral,
CDC has published new plans
church meetings, elbow greetings, distant seatings
vaccine variants a global godsend, COVID conjure
no kisses or hugs, case numbers go viral, helpless shrugs
bull in the pasture bossing heifers, old herd immunity
washing hands the umpteenth time, COVID commands
complaints, pouts, negative doubts, science dropouts
hair pulled out, forgot what’s inside, psyche needs help
virus voyagers blowing in from Brazil, U.K. yesterday
pandemic no myth, year two of COVID, still reading Ovid
inside coping wishing and hoping, outside wide open
staying home with books and poem, tomorrow roam
many stores closed, buying from home, COVID Center
but I ain’t blue, got my shots too, just like you
not feeling ill, two shots, I’ve had my fill,
now it is chance, good luck and God’s will
contemplation, eternal elation, cremation.
