Police officers responded to a report of gunshots near A&M Apartment in Chalan Kanoa District 1, and instead recovered handguns, methamphetamine or “ice,” and cash from a vehicle and a suspect on Friday morning.

Sgt. Tom Blas stated Friday that the case is under investigation and that no arrests have been made yet.

Blas did not say how many handguns were found and stated that the amount of drugs has not been determined.

He said the Department of Public Safety Central Headquarters received a call about possible gunshots on Friday at 7:42am.

Police officer John Wabol learned that it was a concerned citizen who called DPS about gunshots. When the officer arrived at A&M Apartment, he met a man by the entrance to a house located across the apartment.

The man was uncooperative and did not want to answer to Wabol. The officer then met a female individual who was in a vehicle and was about to leave the house.

The female told the officer that she had an argument with the man that the officer had talked to.

More police officers arrived at the scene to assist Wabol.

Blas said that since “ice” and handguns were recovered, police detectives, Drug Enforcement Administration agents, and Commonwealth Ports Authority and Customs K 9 officers were also called to the scene.
