Cook named BankGuam Holding interim president, CEO

HAGATNA, Guam—BankGuam Holding and Bank of Guam Board of Directors at its March 26, 2018 board meeting appointed Joaquin “Kin” P.L.G. Cook to serve as the company’s and bank’s interim president and Chief Executive Officer ,while Lou Leon Guerrero has been granted a leave of absence to run for Office of the Governor of Guam. Leon Guerrero remains board chairwoman. The appointment is effective May 1, 2018.

Cook has served as the company’s executive vice president and chief sales and service officer since 2016 and the bank since January 2015. He has been a director of the company since the company was organized in 2011, and has been a director of the bank since 2007.

Cook has served as manager of the bank’s Compliance Department and has held other positions including assistant vice president, branch manager, and commercial loan officer, starting his career in 2001 as a management trainee.

Cook serves on the board of IP&E Holdings, the St. John’s School Board of Trustees, and Make-a-Wish Foundation. (PR)
