HAGATNA, Guam—The Bank of Guam board of directors, management, and staff are pleased to announce the promotion of Joaquin P.L.G. Cook to executive vice president, chief sales officer.  Cook is also a member of the bank’s board of directors.

Cook joined the Bank of Guam in 2001 following his graduation from college, and completed the bank’s management training program. He was assigned to the bank’s credit department, serving as a loan officer for three years. In 2004, Cook then attended and graduated from the University of San Diego Business School in San Diego, and returned in 2006, joining the Commercial Banking Group, the bank’s corporate loan area. In 2009, Cook was named assistant vice president/Upper Tumon Branch before being promoted to vice president/Compliance Department Manager in 2011.

Cook is a 1997 graduate of St. John’s School, and graduated from the University of California at San Diego with a B.S. in management science in 2001. In addition to his Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of San Diego (2006), he attended and graduated from the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington in 2011.

Cook serves on the board of IP&E Holdings, LLC, as well as the St. John’s School Board of Trustees.
