Government budget on Marianas Agupa
On Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, Marianas Agupa will feature Senate Fiscal Affairs chair Jovita M. Taimanao from 10am to 10:30am. The show is from 9am to 11am on Magic 100.3 FM. The discussion will be on the fiscal year 2012 budget.
The Chamorro radio talk show program is hosted by Glenn H. Manglona. Featured reports are as follows: world report and program review by former mayor Joseph S. Inos, a report by Thomas D. Mendiola from Rota, a special segment called Hafa Mohon with Juanita Mendiola, and a report by David M. Cing from Tinian. Simultaneous Internet streaming via www.magic100radio.com will be available. Activities at Cultural Centers headquarters on Saturday
The Inetnon Amot yan Kutturan Natibu/Mwiischil Safey me Kkoor Aramasal Faluw is offering demonstrations on weaving hats, making mwar, rope, banana print, and traditional medicine and food, and lessons on traditional navigation at the Saipan Chamorro-Carolinian Village Cultural Centers Headquarters (1213 Capital Hill Road, across from the Workforce Investment Agency and next to the CNMI Board of Parole Office) this Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011. The demonstrations will last from 9:30am to about 12pm. Children and adult Chamorros and Carolinians are invited to attend. These activities are offered by the Association of Native Medicine and Culture, in partnership with the Indigenous Affairs Office and funded in part by the Administration for Native Americans. Tanapag school PTSA meeting set

FOA membership meeting on Sept. 27
The Friends of the Arts will hold first membership meeting of the year at the Taste of India/Templa this Tuesday, Sept. 27, beginning at 6:30pm.
“Come share the evening with your fellow FOA members and families. Enjoy some delicious Indian cuisine and great entertainment provided by FOA and Thespian performers. The board will bring you up-to-date regarding our planning retreat this past summer and with the calendar of all of our events for this upcoming season with the chance to purchase season tickets,” said FOA in a media release.

Moving Planet on Saturday
The Division of Environmental Quality, Coastal Resource Management Office, and the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance will be hosting an event called Moving Planet on Saturday, Sept. 24, from the Garapan Fishing Basin to American Memorial Park. That portion of Beach Road will be closed for 30 minutes so people could bike, skate, or walk. Once participants complete their route, there will be information booths and presentations on coral bleaching and the effects carbon emissions have on the atmosphere available. Free Moving Planet T-shirts and trees will be given to the first 350 participants that register. (PR)
NMC’s ENRO Club, MHS JROTC Unit volunteer
Members of the Environmental and Natural Resources Organization, or ENRO Club, of NMC and the Marianas High School Dolphin Battalion will be dedicating their time for tomorrow’s event, Moving Planet. They will help with the setup and maintenance of the registration booth, pass out T-shirts, and provide road guards for this event. Don’t miss out! It starts at Garapan Fishing Basin at 6:30am and ends at the American Memorial Park. Free T-shirts go to the first 350 participants and also free trees will be available while supplies last. (PR)
Veterans outreach in September
Tina San Agustin, the Department of Veterans Affairs’ legal administrative specialist for Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, will be on Saipan on Sept. 28-29, 2011, for a Veterans Outreach on veterans’ federal benefits. She will be also entertaining questions and assisting veterans and all concerned with their claims.
Agustin will be stationed at the Military and Veterans Affairs Office on Capitol Hill, building 1364, Saipan, from 8:30am to 4:30pm on both days.

The CNMI Small Business Development Center, in partnership with the Saipan Chamber of Commerce, presents three free workshops:
-How to start a business: Sept. 27, 9am to 11am
-How to write a business plan: Sept. 28, 9am to 11am
-How to read a financial statement: Sept. 29, 9am to 11am
