Veteran’s Day meeting today
The Office of the Military and Veterans Affairs will hold its first meeting for the upcoming celebration of Veteran’s Day today, Sept. 20, 2011, on Capital Hill, building 1364 at 9am. Kagman center revs up services
The Kagman Community Center is preparing to run youth learning programs-library, homework assistance, health, exercise, and driving practice-with books, equipment, and help of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library and other agencies starting October.
“We are waiting for more help and donations, especially furniture, vehicles, operation fund, and so on,” said Center president Daniel D. Huh. “We can help each other and make our community better. Kagman has the potential to become the best residential area on the island of Saipan. Air Force, Navy to conduct training on FDM, Warning Area-517
SANTA RITA, Guam-The U.S. Air Force will conduct training on the island of Farallon de Mendinilla on Sept. 21-22, from 5:30am to 9pm, and on Sept. 23, from 11am to 9pm. The U.S. Navy will conduct training at Warning Area 517 on Sept. 20-21, from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
The public, especially fisherman, commercial pilots and marine tour operators, are advised to stay clear from the area during the times and dates indicated.
The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla training area will be on a 10-nautical mile radius on all quadrants. W-517 is an irregular shaped polygon comprising 14,000 nautical square miles of airspace that begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. This will affect fishing in the vicinity of Santa Rosa Reef and Galvez Bank.

Veterans outreach in September
Tina San Agustin, the Department of Veterans Affairs’ legal administrative specialist for Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, will be on Saipan on Sept. 28-29, 2011, for a Veterans Outreach on veterans’ federal benefits. She will be also entertaining questions and assisting veterans and all concerned with their claims.
Agustin will be stationed at the Military and Veterans Affairs Office on Capitol Hill, building 1364, Saipan, from 8:30am to 4:30pm on both days.
