Big spring cleaning garage sale set
The biggest spring cleaning garage sale ever will take place on Sunday, Sept. 21, starting at 7:30am at the driveway of the MVA parking lot. Items for sale are bicycle, razor scooter, books, clothes, shoes, toys, baby items, household items, suitcases, and many more. (PR)

Little League Baseball membership meeting
The Saipan Little League Baseball, Inc. is inviting all managers, coaches, parents, and interested individuals for the general membership meeting to elect new board members for the 2015-2016 Little League Season. The meeting will be held on  Oct. 4, 2014, starting at 9am, at the  Ada Gym Pavilion. Please mark your calendar and be there. (PR)

The Salvation Army’s Family Fun Fair cancelled
Because of the bad weather in the last few days, The Salvation Army has cancelled its Family Fun Fair until further notice. The Family Fun Fair was supposed to take place on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at the field in front of Hopwood Middle School on Beach Road. (PR)

Diabetes coalition set membership meeting
The Commonwealth Diabetes Coalition is scheduling their general membership meeting on Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at the Office on Aging conference room from 9:30am to 11:30am. All CDC members as well as interested individuals, organizations, partner agencies from government and non-government, and faith-based organizations are invited to attend this meeting. NMDC schedule of events
The Northern Marianas Descent Corp. has scheduled the following events:

  • NMDC-hosted Delegate Candidates’ Forum on Friday, Sept. 26, starting at 6pm at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.
  • NMDC-hosted 1st Marianas Indigenous Conference on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 29 and 30, from 7:30am to 4:30pm, at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center, Susupe
  • NMDC-hosted CNMI Gubernatorial Candidates Forum on Friday, Oct. 10, starting at 6pm at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center, Susupe. (NMDC)

Free lecture on Chamorro language research
A presentation on The Chamorro Language across Islands and Generations will be given on Tinian on Sept. 22. This is a report on the latest research into Chamorro language processing by the Chamorro Psycholinguistics na Project team of Sandy Chung, Matt Wagers, and Manny F. Borja. The presentation will be at the Gineftao Center at 5:30pm. The presentation is free to the public and all are welcome. (PR)

CCA board meeting on Sept. 23
The Commonwealth Cancer Association’s board of directors will be holding its regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at 3pm at the CCA conference room.
