Kagman Elementary School Open House
The teachers and staff of Kagman Elementary School would like to invite the public to its annual Parent/Student Open House on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at 4:30pm. The Open House will allow parents and students to be informed and engage in fun-filled activities with prizes regarding our English Language Arts Curriculum, STEM Curriculum, and School Policies. Light refreshments will be provided. In addition, all parents and guardians who attend will have their names collected for the end-of-school-year raffle drawing at a chance to win tablets, e-readers, and other cool techy stuff. (PR)
Navy training at Warning Area 517
ASAN, Guam—The U.S. Navy will conduct training at Warning Area 517 on Oct. 7-8, from noon to 8pm. The general public, especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators are advised to stay clear of the area during the dates and times indicated.
W-517 is activated south of latitude 12° 40’ 00”N. All vessels are advised to remain clear of W-517 south of latitude 12° 40’ 00”N. Santa Rosa Reef and Galvez Bank are open for public use. W-517 is an irregular shaped polygon comprising of 14,000 nautical square miles of airspace that begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. (PR)
Chamber meeting this Wednesday
The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will be holding its October general membership meeting this Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Seaside Hall of Kanoa Resort. Speakers will include the Department of Public Works, FEMA (Private Affairs Liaison and Mitigation Branch Director), and a representative from CNMI CARE. Luncheon will commence at 11:30am and the meeting will begin promptly at noon. (SCC)
SLLBI 2016 board elections on Oct. 10
Saipan Little League Baseball, Inc. will hold its general membership meeting for the election of 2016 board members on Oct. 10, 9am at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium pavilion.
