Air Force training on FDM

ASAN, Guam—The U.S. Air Force will conduct training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla on Nov. 24-26, from 10am to 4pm.

The general public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators—are advised to stay clear of the area during the times and dates indicated.

The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be on a 10-nautical mile radius on all quadrants.

RCUOG regular board meeting on Dec. 2

The regular meeting of the Research Corporation of the University of Guam will be held Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at 2pm in the SBPA Graduate Classroom No. 262 on the second floor of the Jesus S. and Eugenia A. Leon Guerrero Building. The RCUOG complies with Guam Public Law 24-109 with reference to the provisions and requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. USS O’Kane sailors volunteer at animal shelter

ASAN, Guam—Sailors from guided-missile destroyer USS O’Kane will volunteer their time at Guam Animals In Need during a port call in Guam today, Nov. 24, from 10am to 1pm.

Sailors will help shelter workers with their daily tasks, including feeding and caring for rescued animals, cleaning kennels and working with them on socialization skills.

O’Kane, homeported in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, is a multi-mission ship with anti-air warfare, anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare surface combatants capabilities. It is named after Rear. Adm. Richard O’Kane who was awarded the Medal of Honor for exemplary service as commander of USS Tang on March 27, 1947. (PR)

Casting call for FOA production

There will be a meeting today, Nov 24, between 6pm and 8pm at the MHS Dolphin Theater for those who would like to take part in the Jan. 16, 17, and 18 production of the FOA’s tribute to vaudeville and music hall called I’m Not Rappaport. (FOA)

CCA board meeting tomorrow

The Commonwealth Cancer Association’s board of directors will be holding its regular meeting tomorrow, Nov. 25, 2014, at 3:00pm at the CCA conference room. MHS seniors to take part in Start Smart seminar

Marianas High School seniors will be out on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 for the annual Senior Start Smart seminar at Saipan World Resort. Students’ permission slips will be placed in your box and will also be available in the counseling office. The permission slip is a passive consent and does not need to be turned in if they plan to attend. If the student does not want to attend the event then they can submit the letter to the counselor on Monday morning. (PR)

Workshop on Form W-2CM

This is to advise all employers that the Division of Revenue and Taxation, Department of Finance will be conducting a workshop for the Annual Wage and Salary Statement, Form (W-2CM) for tax year 2014 and other 2014 yearend filing requirements. The workshop will be on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014.

The first seminar will be from 8am to 11am and the second will be from 1pm to 4pm at the Multi-Purpose Center.
