Casting call for FOA production
There will be a meeting on Monday Nov 24 between 6pm and 8pm at the MHS Dolphin Theater for those who would like to take part in the Jan. 16, 17, and 18 production of the FOA’s tribute to vaudeville and music hall called I’m Not Rappaport. They still have room for additional performers and vocalists. Come and try out. (FOA)
Soroptimist luncheon meeting today
Soroptimist International of Northern Mariana Islands will have a luncheon at the Pacific Islands Club annex today, Nov. 20, at 11:30am to hear Jill Derickson from The Compassionate Friends of Saipan. Cost is $20 and includes lunch and the company of good friends. (PR)
MHS seniors to take part on Start Smart seminar
Marianas High School seniors will be out on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 for the annual Senior Start Smart seminar at Saipan World Resort. Students’ permission slips will be placed in your box and will also be available in the counseling office. The permission slip is a passive consent and does not need to be turned in if they plan to attend. If the student does not want to attend the event then they can submit the letter to the counselor on Monday morning. (PR)

Nov. 21 is designated a legal holiday
Gov. Eloy S. Inos has designated Nov. 21, 2014, as a legal holiday. The Commonwealth Election Commission has set a gubernatorial runoff election on that date. “Pursuant to 1 CMC Section 6508, if an election is held on a day other than a Saturday or Sunday, the Election Day shall be a legal holiday within the Commonwealth or in the senatorial or election district. Therefore, please be advised that Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 is hereby designated as a legal holiday in the CNMI,” he said. (Saipan Tribune)
Air Force training on Farallon de Medinilla
The Air Force will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla today, Nov. 20, from 10am to 4pm. The general public, especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators, are advised to stay clear from the area. The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be on a 10-nautical mile radius on all quadrants. (PR)
Workshop on Form W-2CM
This is to advise all employers that the Division of Revenue and Taxation, Department of Finance will be conducting a workshop for the Annual Wage and Salary Statement, Form (W-2CM) for tax year 2014 and other 2014 yearend filing requirements. The workshop will be on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014. The first seminar will be from 8am to 11am and the second will be from 1pm to 4pm at the Multi-Purpose Center.
