Saipan Chamber meeting on Wednesday
The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly general membership meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Sandcastle. The main speaker will be Col. Michael R. Cardoza, USAF, Chief, Strategy and Plans Division. He will address the membership about the revised divert airfield plan.
Also at this meeting, Chamber members will be voting for their 2016 board members. Each company receives a number of ballots corresponding to their Chamber membership category. Luncheon begins at 11:30am, and the meeting will begin promptly at noon. (SCC)
Family grief support meeting on Nov. 5
The Compassionate Friends of Saipan will be holding their monthly grief support meeting on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 6pm to 7:30pm, in the NMPASI conference room on Middle Road, in Gualo Rai. The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others to be supportive. Singers and actors needed for Scrooge!
A heart-warming musical is coming your way this Christmas season with Friends of the Arts production of Scrooge! This Broadway hit features wonderful Christmas music woven into an uplifting Spirit of Christmas story. Singing and non-singing parts are available for all ages. Auditions will be held today, Nov. 2, from 6pm to 8pm, and on Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 6pm to 8pm at the Marianas High School Dolphin Theater. Start a tradition and bring the whole family to audition for this fun Christmas classic! Show dates are Dec. 18, 19, and 20. (FOA)
Agape offers free math tutoring!
The Agape Math Warriors of the Agape Christian School are offering free math tutoring on weekdays from 6pm to 8pm. This free math tutoring is available to the first 30 students who get C or lower in math. Bring pencil, eraser, scratch paper, and school math textbook.

Military training at FDM, Agat Bay
ASAN, Guam—The U.S. Air Force will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla on Nov. 3 and 5 from 11am to 3pm. The U.S. Navy will conduct training in Agat Bay on Nov. 6 from 9am to noon.
The general public, especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators are advised to stay clear of the areas during the dates and times indicated.
The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be on a 10-nautical mile radius on all quadrants. Agat Bay is contained within the following coordinates: 13° 23’ 00″N/144° 35’ 00″E.
These trainings are designed to enhance the training and readiness of military personnel. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the trainings. (PR)
Marriage Encounter Weekend set
The Marriage Encounter Weekend is a constructive and personal experience offering married couples an opportunity to learn a technique of loving communication that they can use for the rest of their lives. The next CNMI M.E. Weekend is on Nov. 20-22, 2015 at the Kanoa Resort Saipan in Susupe. The cost is $100 per couple and includes two nights’ accommodation, five meals, and all materials. Space is limited to 25 couples.
