Free medical mission on Nov. 22
The Pentecostal Missiionary Church of Christ (4th Watch) Saipan will be hosting a free medical mission on Nov. 22, 2015, at the Garapan Central Park Roundhouse, from 3pm to 6pm. There will be blood sugar and blood pressure check, body massage/reflex, facial cleansing, haircut, eye screening, snacks, giveaways, and counseling/prayers for the sick. ‘Smart Start’ event for all MHS seniors
Marianas High School, in collaboration with Northern Marianas College, will be having their Senior Start Smart event. All seniors are required to attend. Seniors who are not allowed to attend need to turn in a signed slip. Seniors with last names A-Concepcion are scheduled to attend on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, from 8:30am to 2:30pm, at Saipan World Resort, Taga Room. Seniors whose last names begin with Conner-Z are scheduled to attend on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, from 8:30am to 2:30pm, at Saipan World Resort, Taga Room. (PR)
Caregivers workshop
The Commonwealth Respite Service Program, under the Ayuda Network, Inc. in collaboration with the Council on Developmental Disabilities, is inviting family caregivers for a one-day workshop on Nov. 20, 2015, at Pacific Islands Club, Napu Room from 8am to 2:30pm.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide caregivers an opportunity for support and to celebrate this month as 2015 National Family Caregivers Month with the theme, “Respite: Care For Caregivers.”

Military training at FDM, Warning Area 517
The U.S. Air Force will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla on Nov. 17 and on Nov. 19-20, from 10am to 4pm. The U.S. Navy will conduct training at Warning Area 517 on Nov. 17-18, from noon to 8pm. The general public, especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators are advised to stay clear of the areas during the dates and times indicated. The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be on a 10-nautical mile radius on all quadrants. W-517 is an irregular shaped polygon comprising of 14,000 nautical square miles of airspace that begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. (PR)
Kagman schools’ PTSA gathering this Thursday
The Kagman Schools PTSA is inviting all stakeholders of the Kagman schools to a meeting this Thursday, Nov. 19, at 5pm at the Kagman High School cafeteria. We will be unveiling our committee focus and goals for the year. Time is flying! It is almost December! If you signed up for a committee, make sure to attend this meeting so we can make something happen for our students and community before the end of this school year. All PTSA attendees get raffle tickets to win prizes the night of the meeting and for a chance to win in the BIG End of the Year raffle. The more you attend, the more chances to win! The Society for Human Resource Management NMI Chapter will have Patrick Candoleta, Assistant District Director for the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division, presenting at its November general membership meeting. This lunch meeting will be held at the Pacific Islands Club Charley’s on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, from 11:30am to 1:30pm. This presentation is open to the public. Marines to hold non-fire training on Tinian
DEDEDO, Guam—The 1st Battalion 2d Marines will return to Tinian to conduct a non-fire training exercise from Nov. 16 to 18. This exercise tests a rapid deployment capability of first echelon forces that is a critical part of the Marine Corps’ Unit Deployment Program. The North Carolina-based force will fly into the Tinian International Airport aboard a KC-130 and hike to North Field where they will train for two nights. Upon conclusion of their mission, the force will return on foot to the Tinian International Airport and redeploy to Fuji, Japan. (PR)
Report wild bee colonies to UOG WPTRC
The University of Guam Western Pacific Tropical Research Center is requesting the assistance of the public to report wild bee colonies, especially if the bees are a safety concern for neighborhoods or homeowners. WPTRC will remove the problem bees and transport them to a location where beekeepers will be able to tend to them.
