Open House meeting on ESA listing

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be holding an Endangered Species Open House Meeting on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, from 6pm to 8pm at the American Memorial Park Visitor Center in Garapan.

The agency is considering whether certain species in the Mariana Islands warrant protection under the Endangered Species Act through listing and critical habitat.

The Open House meeting will provide information on 23 species in Guam and the CNMI that are under consideration for listing as either endangered or threatened under the Endangered Species Act, 16 (nine plants and seven animals) of which are found in the CNMI. The information meeting will provide an opportunity for interested parties to learn about the process for the proposed listing and critical habitat rule, and for agency personnel to answer questions.
