CUC: Limited water service in Garapan
Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers in the Garapan area will experience limited water service hours due to a damaged high production well pump and motor.

CUC advised that residents in the areas of Garapan Hotel Street to YCO True Value Hardware are scheduled to receive water from 7:30am to 9:30am and residents in the areas of Middle Road to the Gualo Rai Intersection are scheduled from 9:30am to 11:30am, until the completion of the repairs. Upon completion, customers in the affected areas should expect restoration of regular water service.

Garapan Fishing Dock beach red-flagged
The Division of Environmental Quality has red-flagged Garapan Fishing Dock beach and is advising the public not to fish or swim within 300 feet of these locations for the next 48 hours or until otherwise notified.

Samples collected from the location contained excessive concentrations of fecal indicator bacteria (enterococci) that exceeded the CNMI Marine Water Quality Standards. These bacteria can indicate the presence of human and animal waste in the water.

DEQ analyzes water samples collected from Saipan’s recreational beaches and storm drainage every Tuesday. For more information, contact DEQ at 664-8500. (PR)
