Marianas Tourism Month Logo Contest deadline on May 23
Submission for the Tourism Month Logo Contest must be made to the Marianas Visitors Authority by 5pm on May 23, 2022. Students in grades 9-12 are asked to incorporate the slogans “Marianas Tourism Month” and “Tourism is Everybody’s Business” in their vision of the future of travel. Prizes are: $500 for first place, $200 for second place, and $100 for third place. Rules and Parental Release Forms are downloadable from the www.mymarianas.com homepage. (MVA)
Marianas Tourism Month Cleanup on May 27, 28, 31
The public is invited to join the Marianas Tourism Month Cleanup on Saturday, May 28, 2022, in Marpi, Saipan. Participants will meet at 8:30am at the Last Command Post. Cleanups on Tinian will be held on May 27 and 31, 2022. Water service interruption in As Lito, portions of As Perdido, Tottotville, Koblerville
There will be an emergency water service interruption for Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers in the areas of As Lito and portions of As Perdido, Tottotville, and Koblerville from Saint Jude Church to the ABCD Market on Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
The emergency water interruption is to allow CUC operations personnel to repair a main service lateral on Atool Place off the Chaim Monsignor Martinez main road. Customers should expect restoration of water services soon after the repairs.

Water service interruption in Susupe on Friday
There will be a scheduled water service interruption on Friday, May 20, 2022, from 9am to 3pm for Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers in Susupe, specifically the facilities of Bureau of Motor Vehicle, Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center, Commonwealth Election Commission’s Office, Attorney General’s Office, Joeten Kiyu Public Library, Guma Hustisia, Department of Public Safety, Susupe Fire Station, IT&E headquarters, and the Department of Corrections.
This will allow CUC’s contractor for the Islandwide Meter Installation Project to eliminate the old 4-inch diameter gate valve on Tekken Street in Susupe near the Department of Corrections. Water service to the affected areas will resume soon after the elimination.
This project is part of the Islandwide Meter Installation Project to provide a more reliable water system to the people of the CNMI. It is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and aims to address the non-revenue water problems in the CNMI.
