CNMI meeting of non-government groups

The Marianas Alliance for Non-Governmental Organizations is calling on all non-government organization leaders to come to a meeting with the Pacific Islands Association for Non-Governmental Organizations on May 18, 2018, from 3:30pm to 6:30pm, at the WestCare Pacific CNMI office, Springs Plaza, Gualo Rai, Saipan. PIANGO gives a voice in policy formulation and contributes to the development and strengthening the capacity of the civil society sector in the Pacific for more than 27 years. The PIANGO network represents National Liaison Units that serve as national CSO platforms in 27 member countries and territories. By focusing on the theme “Rethinking Development and Reshaping the Pacific We Want By 2030,” PIANGO is currently working on the following priority areas: strengthening CSO platforms in the Pacific, development effectiveness, evidence-based policy advocacy and Pacific development leadership and decolonization and self determination. NMC graduation will stream live

Family and friends who are off-island or who are not able to attend the Northern Marianas College’s 38th Commencement Exercise on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the Marianas High School Gymnasium in person can watch the event live online on NMC’s Facebook page.  The ceremony will be streamed live at

Memorial Day proclamation signing

The Office of the Governor’s CNMI Military Veterans Affairs Office would like to invite all military members, families, and the public to a proclamation signing on May 21, 2018, at 9am, at the Office of the Governor conference room for the celebration of Memorial Week on May 21-28 and Memorial Day on Monday, May 28, 2018, 9am, at the Veterans Cemetery in Marpi. Nominees sought for MINA’s Green Awards

The Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance is seeking nominations for this year’s Green Award for presentation at the annual Green Gala event slated for Sept. 14, 2018. The deadline for submission of nominees is June 1, 2018. Awards are given in the following categories, and nominations will be accepted from Saipan, Tinian, and Rota: Environmental Champion Award, Environmental Heroes Award, Green Business of the Year.
