NMPASI closed on Thursday
The Northern Marianas Protection & Advocacy Systems, Inc (NMPASI) will be closed today, May 16, for Professional Development. They will resume regular business hours on Friday, May 17.
ChaCha Ocean View to release progress reports

Taste of the Marianas this Saturday
The 21st Annual Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival & Beer Garden will be held every Saturday in May at American Memorial Park beginning at 6pm. This Saturday, May 18, six contenders will take on a mystery celebrity food fighter in the J’s Fried Rice Eating Contest at 7pm.
Entertainment will include Unshakable, Rod Gibson (Australia), Anna Glushko, CNMI Takewondo, Man Antigu, Alania, and Baraha Band. (PR)
GCC offers free Construction Boot Camp
The Guam Community College is offering a free Construction Boot Camp for the first 25 registrants. The six-week training cycle will begin on May 20 through July 2, 2019, from 8am to 4 pm at the GCC campus.
The Future Builders of Guam—Construction Boot Camp will focus on carpentry, welding, electrical, basic blueprint reading, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning. Participants will be eligible to earn nationally recognized certifications in these areas and be able to earn a National Career Readiness Certification, OSHA-10 Certificate, and CPR/Basic First Aid.

Guam CHamoru commission meetings set
The Kumisión i Fino’ CHamoru yan i Fina’nå’guen i Historia yan i Lina’la’ i Taotao Tåno’ (Commission on CHamoru Language and the Teaching of the History and Culture of the Indigenous People of Guam) will hold a meeting on May 23, Thursdays, from 12:30pm to 3pm., at the Garden House, Plasa de Espana, in Hagåtña. A work session will also be held on May 16, from 12:30pm to 3pm at the same venue. JKPL, Bookmobile closed for inventory
The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library and Bookmobile Outreach Services will be closed for five days for inventory, from May 14 to May 18, 2019. All penalties for items due during this period will be waived.
