SINMI meeting on Thursday
The monthly meeting of the Soroptimist of the Northern Mariana Islands is this Thursday, May 13, at noon at the new Island Cafe on Middle Road in their private back room. You can park at the back side of the restaurant. We will be ordering from the menu.
Please join us. We are looking to grow our club and will be discussing our big “Fun-Raiser,” the Margaritaville, which will take place on May 14, from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. Tickets are $25 with bottomless margaritas, finger food, and raffle prizes. All funds raised go toward SINMI’s Live Your Dream Award in October.
Soroptimist International is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. They celebrate their 100th birthday this year. (PR)
Free webinars on federal contracting
The Guam Procurement Technical Assistance Center is offering free live webinars this month. Webinars run from 10am to 11:30am and will be conducted via Zoom. Links to the live webinar and the webinar evaluation will be emailed to all registered attendees 15 minutes before the start of the webinar.
May 13 – Federal Contract Opportunities – Beta.sam.gov is the portal for Federal Contract Opportunities. We will show you how to setup an account and how to use the search filters to ensure you do not miss any opportunities.
May 20 – PIEE/WAWF – Department of Defense vendors use the Wide-Area Workflow module in the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment system to create, submit, and track their invoices. We will show you how to setup an account and submit an invoice so you get paid on time.
May 27 – Cybersecurity – The Department of Defense is requiring cybersecurity certification for vendors. We will discuss the best way to comply with DOD’s requirement. Military trainings in Guam
ASAN, Guam—The Guam National Guard will conduct training in Radio Barrigada up to May 23 from midnight to 11:59pm. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they hear or see increased activity due to the training.
The U.S. Navy will conduct training in Outer Apra Harbor up to May 21 from 9am to 4pm. The public is advised to be aware of the training event.
The U.S. Navy will conduct live fire exercises in open ocean up to May 13 from 9am to 11:55pm at the following coordinates: 13˚26”N/145˚08”E, 13˚42”N/144˚36”E. Marine vessels are advised to remain clear of the area for the duration of the event and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.
