Do Re Mi Music School sets Annual Concert
The Do Re Mi Music School is having its 22nd Annual Concert on May 9 and 10, from 7pm to 9pm each evening at the Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe. Tickets are available by calling 233-7777 and will also be available at the door: $10 for adults and $5 for children. The concert will include pieces from Tchaikovsky, Paganini, Wentawski and Mendelssohn, among others. (PR)
Detonation of WWII ordnance tomorrow
The Department of Public Safety will be blocking off the northern part of Saipan, from Marpi north, on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 12pm to 3pm, to dispose of a collection of unexploded ordinance that has been collected by the Department of Public Safety Explosive Response Team. All visitors to these popular areas of the island are encouraged to make arrangements to visit either in the morning before the 12pm deadline or after the operation has completed at 3pm. Election office in Susupe opens every Saturday
The Commonwealth Election Commission’s office in Susupe will be open every Saturday, starting May 3, 2014, from 10am to 2pm for those CNMI residents who would like to register to vote for the 2014 general election to be held on Nov. 4, 2014. As initiative(s) regarding Article 7 of the NMI Constitution will also be on the November ballot, registration for Northern Marianas Descent Registry will also be accepted. CNMI residents who wish to register to vote must provide a copy of a valid U.S passport or a certification of live birth as proof of U.S citizenship. Those who wish to register for the Northern Marianas Decent Registry must provide a copy of their certificate of live birth. For more information, contact the commission’s office at 664-VOTE (8683). BECQ Cleanup Brigade eyes Tank Beach
The Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality’s Cleanup Brigade will be at it again, picking up trash at Tank Beach in Kagman this Saturday, May 3, 2014, at 8am. If you would like to volunteer your time to clean and beautify our island, please meet the BECQ representatives on Saturday at Tank Beach at 8am. Volunteers will split into groups and clean until 10am and break for drinks and then continue, if needed. For more information about volunteering, contact the BECQ office at 664-8500/1. (BECQ)
Notice to graduating MHS seniors
To all graduating Marianas High School seniors: Your cap, gown, and tassels are in and available for pick up in the Main Office. Distribution schedule is as follows:
* Last names D – J : May 1
* Last names K – M : May 2
* Last names N – S : May 5
* Last names T – Z : May 6
* Students who did not order, but need graduation items: May 9 (full payment is required)
Pick up times will be from 7:30am to 8:30am and 3pm to 4:30pm. Full payment is required for items to be released. Last day to pick up your items will be on May 7. Items that are not picked up by then will be made available to students who did not get to order in advance. If you are not able to pay by the specified date, make arrangements with Ms. Tudela by calling the Main Office at 237-3206.(MHS)
