Navy training at FDM, Warning Area 517
ASAN, Guam—The U.S. Navy will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla during the following dates and times:
• March 30 from 10am to 7:30pm
• March 28 and 29 from 10-11:30am and 6-7:30pm
• March 31 from 10am to 3:30pm
The U.S. Navy will also conduct training at Warning Area 517 on March 28-30, from midnight to 10pm.
The public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators—are advised to stay clear of the areas during the dates and times indicated. (PR)
Water outage in Fina Sisu, As Perdido
There will be a scheduled water service interruption today, March 28, 2017, from 8am to 5pm in the Fina Sisu and As Perdido areas. Commonwealth Utilities Corp. Water/Wastewater Engineering and Operations staff will be conducting numerous tests on the water pressure around the Finasisu and As Perdido areas to determine necessary changes to provide a more effective and efficient operation. Customers in the affected areas should expect restoration of water services soon thereafter. (CUC)
Call for historical papers
The Northern Marianas Humanities Council, University of Guam, Northern Marianas College, and Guampedia are calling for papers for the 3rd Marianas History Conference. The conference will be held on Saipan on Sept. 1-3, 2017, at a venue to be announced later.
A full range of topics associated with the Marianas Archipelago’s history will be addressed at the conference. Paper abstracts with a maximum of 150 words and the presenter’s biography may be submitted online via the following link: tinyurl.com/3rdMHC.
