Conservation biology research presentations
Public presentations of scientific research performed in the CNMI will be held on March 19 and 20, 2014, from 5:30pm to 7pm, at the American Memorial Park auditorium. Various topics related to the field of conservation biology will be discussed by visiting students of the Northern Arizona University’s Field Experience in Conservation Biology program. FECB student researchers collaborated with local citizens, students, and resource managers on their projects. All are encouraged to attend; admission is free.(PR)

Navy, Air Force training at Warning Area 517, FDM

ASAN, Guam—The U.S. Navy will conduct training at Warning Area 517 during the following times:

n March 19, from 7am to 4pm
n March 20, midnight to March 26, midnight
n March 27-28, from 7am to 4pm
The U.S. Air Force will conduct training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla during the following dates and times:
n March 19, from 10am to 1:30pm
n March 20, from 11am to 1:30pm
n March 21, from 10am to noon

The public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators—are advised to stay clear from the area during the times and dates indicated. (PR)

Parent workshop at Kagman High

Kagman High School will be having a workshop on how to help your child learn how to use reading skills in all content areas. The event will take place on March 22 from 9am to 2:30pm and April 10 from 5pm to 7:30pm at the Kagman High School campus. There will be food and giveaways! MHS to hold unannounced drills 

Parents and guardians of Marianas High School students are being informed that the school will be conducting some unannounced emergency drills throughout the rest of the school year that may include fire, typhoon, bomb threat, active shooter, volcanic haze, earthquake, and tsunami drills. These drills help MHS staff, students, emergency personnel, and community to prepare for real-life emergency situations that may occur in the school.
