BECQ office closure
The Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality will be closed on Friday, March 13, 2015, due to a full-day employee professional development training. Normal operations will resume on Monday, March 16, 2015. If you have an emergency or require immediate assistance, call 664-8500 for DEQ and 664-8300 for DCRM. (BECQ)
Deadline to order graduation accessories
This is to inform all parents of seniors (12th grade) at Marianas High School that the last day to place an order for graduation accessories and partial payment is March 23, 2015. Please be advised that orders will not be accepted after the deadline. Graduation accessories are purchased off island. Please call 237-3206/3205 for more information. (MHS)
CCA board meeting on March 17
The Commonwealth Cancer Association’s board of directors will be holding its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at 3pm at the CCA conference room. Agenda includes reports from the president and program updates. All board meetings are open to the public. The Survivor’s and Caregiver’s Support Group Meeting will be held on March 19, 2015, at 5:30pm at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Chamolinian Room. (PR)
Grotto dive site closed temporarily
Effective March 8, 2015, the Department of Public Safety’s Boating Safety Section has closed the Grotto dive site for the time being due to rough waters and strong current. It is advised that all visitors to the Grotto obey the signage posted and avoid going down into the site. The Department of Public Safety will make another announcement when the current lessens and the site is safe again. (DPS)
Air Force, Navy training at FDM, Warning Area 517
The U.S. Air Force will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla on March 13, from 10am to 4:30pm and 6:30-11:55pm. The general public especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators are advised to stay clear from the area during the dates and times indicated. (PR)
