CUC Rota resumes normal operations

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. has resumed normal operations on Rota.

According to Update #17 issued last Friday, 100% of all feeders and laterals on Rota are now energized.

Also, 100% of water services are now online.

The boil water notice has now been lifted. Water distribution samples taken from the Rota water system on June 1 were tested and test results are “all clear” and safe for use.

Two CUC customers remain without power service due to electrical repairs pending on the customers side. Repairs to the damaged secondary lines and restorations of streetlights are ongoing. (Saipan Tribune)

MHS Rhythm’n Harmony presents concert

The Marianas High School Rhythm’n Harmony Glee Club is proud to present “Pure Imagination,” a glee concert, on June 6 and 7, 2023, at the Marianas High School Gymnasium. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Start time is 7pm each night.

The students of the MHS Glee Club have been performing for various social events around the island and are now proud to present their first concert of 2023. With months of daily 2-hour rehearsals, this concert will showcase the glee club’s repertoire and will help shine the spotlight on some of MHS’ aspiring student performers. (PR)

Water service interruption for the Dandan TSA

There will be a scheduled water service on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at the Dandan Tank Service Area, from 8am to 5pm.

• Area(s) affected: Partial area of Dandan; Holiday Dr., Independence Lp., Natibu Pl., and Lower Dandan

• Purpose: The scheduled water outage is to permanently cut, cap and abandon the old 4-inch distribution line connected to the 8-inch PVC transmission line that will be abandoned under the Isley Booster-2 transmission and Booster Pump Project at the intersection of Chalan Tun Herman Pan Road and Flame Tree Road.

• Roadway(s) affected: Intersection of Chalan Tun Herman Pan Road and Flame Tree Road. For the safety of our crew, motorists are advised to use caution while driving in the area.

Customers in the area will experience low to no water pressure. Allow one to two hours after for water to pressurize back into the main line.

4.6-magnitude quake in Pagan region

At 8:57pm on June 3 2023, a report of a 4.6-magnitude earthquake occurred at 18.340°N 145.847°E in the Pagan region, NMI. Currently, there are no reports of injuries or damages and no tsunami warnings or advisories that were issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. 5.2-magnitude quake in Guam region

At 3:25pm on June 2, 2023, a report of a 5.2-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Guam region. Currently, there are no reports of injuries or damages and no tsunami warnings or advisories were issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. 4.6-magnitude quake in Pagan region

At 8:51am on June 2, 2023, a report of a 4.6-magnitude earthquake occurred at the Pagan region of the Northern Mariana Islands. Currently, there are no reports of injuries or damages and no tsunami warnings or advisories were issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. UOG Board of Regents meeting on June 6

The special meeting of the University of Guam Board of Regents is scheduled for 5pm on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, in the Office of Information Technology, Student Computer Lab, Room 108C, UOG. The meeting will be publicly accessible by registering for Zoom access at https://zoom.us/j/94901255380

A working session will be held in the President’s Conference Room at 4:30pm.
