Kataki (The Enemy) to be staged at Sugar King Park
The Friends of the Arts will be staging Shimon Wincelberg’s Kataki (The Enemy), at Sugar King Park on June 7 and 8, from 5pm to 7pm, beginning with an optional tour of the Park. Tickets cost $15 for the general public, $12 for members of the Friends of the Arts, $8 for students, and $5 for Thespians. The play will be enacted on the grass in the center of the park under the large fallen tree. CCA board meeting on June 17
The Commonwealth Cancer Association’s board of directors will be holding its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at 3pm at the CCA conference room. Cleanup at Pau Pau Beach on Saturday
The Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality’s Cleanup Brigade will be picking up trash at Pau Pau Beach, San Roque on Saturday, June 7, 2014, starting at 8am. If you would like to volunteer, meet the BECQ representatives on Saturday at Pau Pau Beach at 8am. Volunteers will split into groups and clean until 10am and break for drinks and then continue, if needed. This month, outstanding brigade volunteers who participated in at least 10 monthly cleanups will receive a brigade cap and those who participated in at least three cleanups will receive a brigade t-shirt. Air Force training on FDM
ASAN, Guam—The U.S. Air Force will conduct training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla on June 5, from 9am to 3pm, and June 6, from 9am to 2pm. The general public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators—are advised to stay clear from the area during the times and dates indicated. The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla training area will be on a 10 nautical mile radius on all quadrants. (PR)
Family grief support meeting on June 5
A group that is in the process of forming a Compassionate Friends chapter on Saipan will be holding their monthly grief support meeting on Thursday, June 5, from 6pm to 7:30pm, in the NMPASI conference room on Middle Road, in Gualo Rai.
The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others to be supportive.
