Chamber meeting on July 5

The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will have a general membership meeting on July 5, a Thursday, at the Hyatt Regency Saipan. Guest speakers will be Labor Secretary Vicky Benavente, who will share some important updates, and Arielle Buyum, executive director of Latte Training Academy, who will provide updates on the classes held through the CW program funding. Lunch will begin at 11:30am and the meeting will follow promptly at 12pm. Reservations will be accepted only for parties of four or more. MHS student orientations set

Marianas High School will be conducting their school year 2018-2019 student orientations:

-Aug. 9, 9am-12pm: Incoming freshmen & new transfer students; school gym

-Aug. 10, 9am-12pm: Sophomores; school gym

-Aug. 13, 9am-12pm: Juniors; school gym

-Aug. 14, 9am-12pm: Seniors; school gym

Power interruption tomorrow in Puerto Rico

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. said there will be a scheduled power interruption on June 30 from 5am to 10am in Puerto Rico, affecting Sadog Tasi and first partial of Puerto Rico. The Sadog Tasi Treatment Plant will be affected but not water wells. Four power poles will be replaced. (PR)
