OES now accepting registrations
Oleai Elementary School is now accepting registration for new and returning students for school year 2017-2018. Parents and guardians of returning students are also asked to update registration and all supporting documents. Registration forms are available at our main office. MHS report cards now available
Report cards for Marianas High School students are available. Registration for new incoming and returning students for Marianas High School is ongoing until July 31, 2017. Documents required of new incoming students: transcript/diploma/certification of completion; birth certificate; updated school entrance health certificate; legal guardianship from the court with seal (if applicable); medical insurance or Medicaid.

For returning students, the required documents are: birth certificate; updated school entrance health certificate; and medical insurance or Medicaid. Temporary closure of the Garapan Fishing Base Boat launching ramp
All boaters and frequent visitors to the Garapan Fishing Base are reminded that the fishing base boat launching ramp will be temporarily closed from today, June 19, to Friday, June 23 2017, to provide the Hawaiian Rock Products construction crew ample time to complete the paving of the trailer boat parking lot. Please avoid parking in the proposed paving area. For more information, contact the Department of Lands and Natural Resources at 322-9834. (PR)

Slow water service extended
The temporary water service interruption for the Beach Road, Middle Road and Gualo Rai areas ill be extended until today, June 20, 2017. The purpose of the extended water interruption is to provide ample time for the proper installation of the damaged waterline and installation of a new 16-inch gate valve. The installation of the new valve is to ensure all affected Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers will receive water service in case another waterline breaks within the same area in the future. Customers in the affected areas will be experiencing low water pressure during the duration of the repair and should expect water service hours from 6am to 10am daily. (CUC)

Military training at FDM, Warning Area 517
The U.S. military will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla during the following dates and times:

• June 19 and 21, from 9am to 4pm
• June 20 and 22, from 7am to 4pm
• June 23, from 7:30am to noon

The U.S. military will also conduct training at Warning Area 517 on June 21, from 2pm to 8pm.

It is recommended the public, fishermen and marine tour operators monitor the Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners.

W-517 is activated south of latitude 12° 40’ 00”N. All vessels are advised to remain clear of W-517 south of latitude 12° 40’ 00”N. Santa Rosa Reef and Galvez Bank are open for public use.
The location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be in a 12-nautical mile radius of the island. (PR)

Jury selection is cancelled
This is to inform all prospective jurors on panels “17AR” and “17AS” that the jury selection scheduled for today, June 19, 2017, at 8:30am in Courtroom 220A is cancelled until further notice. Change in water service hours
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. has changed the water service hours for customers along Chalan Msgr. Martinez Road in As Lito and As Perdido. Due to the daily low tank levels caused by a decrease in water supply from the CUC water wells in Isley Field, customers in the affected areas will be receiving water service from 6am to 4pm daily. SHEFA now accepting applications
For all new, ongoing and returning applicants: The Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance program is now accepting applications for fall 2017. Application deadline is July 3, 2017, and deadline to submit all supporting documents is Sept. 30, 2017. Application and checklist can be downloaded from www.saipanshefa.net.
