One-day Task & Management training
The Saipan Chamber of Commerce and Island Training Solutions invites the public to a Task & Time Management seminar on Thursday, June 15, from 9am to 12pm at the Chamber’s conference room at the Marianas Business Plaza Suite 315. The training will help you establish goals, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines, attain skills to balance home and work and learn effective techniques to increase productivity. Military training at Warning Area 517, FDM
ASAN, Guam—The U.S. military will conduct training at Warning Area 517 today, May 31, from noon to 3pm. The military will also conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla on June 1, from 8:30am to 4:30pm, and on June 2, from 7:30am to noon.
The public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators—are advised to stay clear of the areas during the dates and times indicated. (PR)
Cancer survivors invited to Sunday events
The Commonwealth Cancer Association and the CHCC Comprehensive Cancer Control Program are inviting all people facing cancer to a “Celebration of Life” Mass on Sunday, June 4, 2017, 8am, at Kristo Rai Church in Garapan, and the Cancer Survivors Summit Gala, also on Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 11am to 2pm at the Hyatt Regency Saipan SandCastle. CAO to host summer camp this month
The Carolinian Affairs Office will host a summer camp for children ages 8 to 13 years old, from June 5 to June 23, across the Bank of Guam on Beach Road in Garapan. The camp will be held from Monday to Friday only, from 7:30am to 11:30am. Daily activities will focus on traditional ways and practices. Only 30 seats are available, so it’s first come, first serve. CW issue on focus at SHRM meeting
The Society for Human Resource Management NMI Chapter will have a special meeting this Friday, June 2, 2017, with former Saipan Chamber of Commerce president Alex Sablan, a member of the Governor’s Strategic Economic Development Council, speaking in view of the announcement by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services that the foreign worker cap for the CNMI has been reached for fiscal year 2018.
